Rachel Larris is the Reproductive Rights Director at Media Matters for America where she monitors and examines media coverage of reproductive issues. She formerly served communications manager of the Women’s Media Center whose mission is to make women and girls visible and powerful in the media. Rachel regularly speaks to the press on issues of women’s representation in news and in newsrooms, which includes promoting WMC’s annual Status of Women in the U.S. Media report. She also oversees WMC's Media Monitoring program, which includes tallying the gender breakdown of Oscar and Emmy nominees. Prior to joining Women’s Media Center, Rachel served as communications director at American Forum and the National Women’s Editorial Forum. She previously worked as a journalist in Ohio, Seattle and Washington, D.C. She tweets under @RachelLarris.
