There’s a lot of excitement about the possibility publishing your work as an e-book, but what exactly does that mean? What the are benefits and risks, and how do you go about becoming your own publisher? Is it a good idea? What should you know before you take the plunge? Jane Friedman, former publisher of Writer’s Digest, in conversation with JAWS board member Sarah Pollock. Jane will discuss how to make the smartest, most cost-efficient decisions for your author career. She will provide insight into critical trends every author should be aware of, plus 10 questions an author should ask of every service she encounters. Her comments will include:
• How to make your book available on Kindle, Nook, iPad, Kobo, and most reading devices in use today
• The technical skill required and how/when to use a professional to help you convert your work into different formats
• 3 essential factors that impact your e-book sales
• A list of trusted resources to help you, including sources for finding professional help (editorial, design, production, etc.).
